How to Tell Wild Animals Summary ➢

It is a humorous poem. In this poem, the poet gives a short description of 7 animals- Tiger, Lion, Leopard, Chameleon, Bear, Crocodiles, and Hyenas. Poet says- If ever you get chance to the jungle in the east, and suddenly you see a giant, brownish color animal, and if he roars at you and your situation becomes like death then you will know it is the Asian lion.

In the next line, the poet says- If you roaming around a jungle and you see a noble wild beast meet you. With black stripes on a yellow ground, remember that he eats you. This simple rule may help you learn, the Bengal tiger to distinguish. If you walking and a beast you view, whose skin of an animal with spots is like round spots like pepper an aromatic pungent spice. As soon as he has leap on you, you need to know that it is the leopard. He not roar like other animals he only leaps and leaps again.

Poet also tells you to identify different animals by their different behavior like a bear from its friendly, hard bear-hug, a hyena from its laugh, and a crocodile from its weeping while swallowing its victim. And when you see a tree and nothing found on the tree then there is a chameleon as it has the quality to change its color according to its atmosphere.

Carolyn Wells is the poet of How to tell wild animals. Carolyn wells born on 18 June 1862 and died on 26 March 1942. He was an American author poet born in Rahway, New Jersey. She was the daughter of William e. and anna wells. She wrote a total of more than 17 books.
